Junior Retreat
The annual Junior Retreat took place on Saturday, April 10th. This event is an overnight trip where the cadets spent the night at Camp Weaver in Greensboro, NC.
The purpose of the Junior Retreat is to focus the rising senior on their role and mission for their final year at Hargrave, both as an individual and as a team member of the senior class.
This was a required event for all juniors to attend, including day cadets.
We truly had a joyous time making the Junior Retreat a special and memorable event and setting the stage for our rising seniors.
On behalf of the entire Hargrave family, please accept sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your support and encouragement!

10 RUN FIRST INNING PROPELS TIGERS TO VICTORY
The Hargrave Tigers opened up a three game homestand on Monday afternoon as they hosted the Eastern Mennonite Flames. After a hot start, the Tigers cruised to a 13-3 victory securing their first win of the season!
After a quick top half of the first inning, where Hargrave's starter Aidan Allen '22 (Goochland, VA) fanned two Eastern Mennonite hitters and just surrendered one walk, the Tigers stepped to the plate with grit and determination. Lead-off hitter, shortstop Teddy Hoffman '25 (Boca Raton, FL), stepped into the batter's box and swung on the first pitch he saw, crushing a line drive into left center field. Allen, now at the plate, enjoyed the same result as he knocked Hoffman in with an RBI double which proved to the be the start of a 10 run first inning for the home team.
Allen was efficient on the mound, throwing just 26 pitches through two innings and that performance paved the way for young Dean Friedburg '25 (Virginia Beach, VA) to come in and close things out for the Tigers. Friedburg, who is affectionately referred to as "Tank" by his peers, has continued to step up in big moments for this group and he's making a name for himself as a developing five tool player.
Coach Frank Thomas '87 managed a beautiful game and was able to get his entire roster some valuable experience in the win. "It was an awesome afternoon of baseball and I'm so proud of these young men. They've been working hard and it's always nice to see that hard work pay off on the scoreboard!" remarked Thomas.
