Introducing the New Commandant

Chief Warrant Officer-3 Jason Rader is the son of a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and was born in Fort Worth, TX.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Private, was promoted meritoriously (early) three times and reached the rank of Gunnery Sergeant before applying and being selected for the Warrant Officer Program where he was appointed and eventually commissioned as a Chief Warrant Officer.  He retired after more than 22 years of service in 2020.

Chief Warrant Officer-3 Rader is married to the former Jessica Garcia of Clewiston, FL.  Their oldest daughter is currently serving her second enlistment in the U.S. Air Force and they bring their youngest three children with them to Chatham.

Chromebooks for Cadets

As a reminder, starting Spring 2021, GoGuardian will be mandatory for all Cadets. This will require families to supply their Cadets a Chromebook laptop of any make and model (new or used). Cadets will use their Chromebooks purely for academic purposes.

Other laptops and devices (i.e., Windows or Apple OS devices)) will be allowed as a privilege for personal use during personal (free) time (gaming, recreation, hobbies, etc.). Personal machines will be disallowed in the classroom, study hall, and any other academic time. Personal computer time will be designated outside of the academic hours of the day.

Personal machines will continue to be subject to monitoring, reporting, and blocking as seen in previous years and the privilege to these machines may be revoked if deemed necessary. Most importantly, should it become necessary to limit a cadet’s access to technology due to poor judgment, it does not preclude access to a device critical for their academic success.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact our IT Director, Jeremiah Bunker at [email protected].

Cross Country Team Dominates the Competition

The Tiger scored a perfect Cross country score at the Fishburne invitational. The score was in doubt until the last mile, when conditioning and grit led the Tigers to victory. When the other teams faltered our Cadets excelled.

Led by Cole Sprague, Hargrave finished in the top five positions. Wesley Marquardt placed second, Jaden Carter third, Jay Thompson, fourth and Jacob Miller fifth overall.

In the second race Payton Smith placed a close second overall, followed by Ethan Tuluk. Other Tiger runners in order of finish were, Kai Chuang, Bohong Yang, and Christopher Roe.

Please congratulate our runners, on a job well done!

Tiger Pride!
